Celebrate National Pie Week with our very own Rooster Pie recipe!

To celebrate National Pie week this year why not try your hand at making our own Rooster potato, leek, cheese and bacon pie recipe. Simple to prepare and make, as well as being completely delicious, we think that this will be a family favourite for all to enjoy.

The Rooster potato, leek, cheese and bacon pie
Serves 6 people

Ingredients:
600g mash potato
150 g grated mature cheddar
150 g diced ham
Half a leek
Half an onion
1 diced onion
1 tablespoon of salt
1 teaspoon of white pepper
Half tablespoon of black pepper
2 tablespoons of Lea and Perrins
Ready-made puff pastry

Method:
– Soften leek and onions in a saucepan in butter
– In a separate pan fry the diced ham off
– Add ham to the rest of the ingredients and mix well
– Place into a fitting casserole dish and top with the pastry
– Egg wash pastry and put into a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 50 mins to 1 hour and cook until golden brown
