Jackson’s Homemade Steak Pie Recipe

Steak and kidney pie meal

Serves 6 people

3lb Jackson’s diced chuck steak beef
¼ cup of red wine
Tablespoon of salt
¼ tablespoon of ground black pepper (brings out the taste of the beef)
¼ tablespoon of ground white pepper (adds a kick)
1 diced onion
1 x good beef stock cube/pot
1 x good veg stock cube/pot
Fresh sprig of rosemary and fresh sprig of thyme
Bay leaf
½ teaspoon of garlic

– Fry off diced beef with the onions to seal
– In a separate pan measure 1 litre of water and bring to the boil
– Add beef, onions, all other ingredients and stock cubes/pot to the pan
– Simmer for 1 ½ hours – test to see if the meat is tender
– Thicken to personal preference with cornflower or gravy granuals
– Add the mixture into a dish and cover with (either homemade or pre rolled) puff pasty
– Add to a pre-heat over 180 degrees and cook until golden brown
